LEXA · System Authority

Control4 in DubaiPinnacle-tier dealer, delivered properly.

Control4 has been our workhorse for high-end Dubai residences for a decade — the OS is stable, the driver library is deep, and the family experience is uncompromised even after a decade of ownership. LEXA is a certified Control4 partner running current OS 4 for new installs and OS 3 for existing homes that don't need a forced migration. Every project is delivered with dealer-signed drivers, live remote support, and a system snapshot the owner actually owns.

Dubai Reality Check

What actually matters when specifying Control4 in Dubai

The single biggest Control4 mistake in Dubai isn't the hardware — it's the network. Villas here average 8,000–15,000 sqft with layouts that eat WiFi for breakfast. We plan RUCKUS or Ubiquiti UniFi wired backbones first, then Control4 controllers ride on that. Fibre trunks between controllers on multi-storey villas remove single points of failure. The second Dubai-specific issue is 4K HDR distribution — DIRAC-tested HDMI matrices, HDBaseT with proper CATx (or 10G fibre extenders for cinema rooms >30m), and OLED calibration at handover. And finally: dealer accounts. We register every LEXA-deployed project under a client-recoverable Control4 account so the owner is never locked out if they ever move dealers.

The LEXA Difference

How we deliver Control4 projects differently

Control4 Certified Programmers on staff — programming is done in-house, in the office, in front of you if you want.
Every driver we deploy is dealer-signed and archived. No greyware, no bootlegs — critical for AV distribution reliability.
Network-first architecture: we design the router, wired backbone and WAP layout before the Control4 controllers land on site.
Post-handover we ship you a printed one-page "family cheat sheet" and a video walkthrough — not just a 90-page PDF.
Life-of-project remote support via 4Sight so we can diagnose 90%+ of issues without a truck-roll.

Where Control4 fits

Typical Dubai deployments

Emirates Hills 12-zone villa

10 zones of AV distribution + 40+ lighting loads + full HVAC + Sonance in-wall speakers, all under a single Control4 EA-5 with a hot-standby EA-3.

Palm Jumeirah entertainment home

Cinema room with a dedicated Control4 CA-1 controller, HDBaseT distribution to 6 4K displays and a Roon-based multi-room audio backbone.

Dubai Hills family villa

Family-friendly UX with kid-safe scenes, guest mode, and a lockable "away" profile that halves standby power draw.

DIFC penthouse smart office

Hybrid residence-plus-office with per-user profiles, Zoom-room integration and Control4 Access lift/door controls.

Al Barari eco-luxury villa

Solar-inverter data pulled into Control4 dashboards, integrated with KNX HVAC and Lutron shading for coordinated energy scenes.

Meydan developer standard package

42-unit branded residence with a base Control4 package + 3 upgrade tiers unit buyers pick at handover — identical drivers, differentiated hardware.

Control4 in Dubai — questions we're actually asked

How is Control4 different from Crestron?+

Control4 wins on time-to-value and family-friendly UX; Crestron wins on ultimate flexibility for very large or very custom projects. For 90% of Dubai villas 8,000–20,000 sqft, Control4 delivers a better lived experience per dirham.

Can I migrate from OS 2 or OS 3 to OS 4 without ripping out hardware?+

Depends on your controllers. EA-1/EA-3/EA-5 go straight to OS 4. Older HC-250/HC-800 need a swap. We audit for free and quote a migration path — never a full re-do.

What happens if my Control4 dealer goes out of business?+

Because we register every project under a client-recoverable account and archive the project file with you, any Control4 dealer worldwide can pick it up. This is the exact opposite of the 'dealer-locked' horror stories the audit called out.

Does Control4 work offline / when internet drops?+

Yes — all local automation, lighting, HVAC and AV continues to function during internet outages. Only 4Sight cloud features (remote access, notifications) go quiet until connectivity returns.

How quickly can you deploy a Control4 project for a live handover?+

Existing wiring good, budget approved: 3–6 weeks for a mid-size villa. New-build with fresh drawings coordinated at first fix: 8–14 weeks including commissioning.
