Project Requirements
A 6-bedroom Downtown Dubai villa handed over with the developer's basic pre-wire but no automation package. The client took possession expecting a 30-day fit-out — the industry benchmark is 8–14 weeks. Compressing that window without rip-and-replace required a control platform we could commission in place, on-site programming instead of factory pre-configuration, and a network-first sequencing where WAPs and switches went in before any lighting or audio hardware was touched.
The LEXA Solution
LEXA led with a Control4 EA-5 controller on OS 4, sitting on a hardened Ubiquiti UniFi network we deployed in the first 3 days of the project so all subsequent devices could be provisioned wireless-only where cable runs were awkward. Lighting is Lutron HomeWorks QSX with 62 dimming zones and Palladiom keypads in family rooms; RadioRA 3 gap-fills three retrofit rooms where new cable pulls would have delayed the schedule. Audio is 8 zones of Sonos Amp + Sonance in-ceiling. Security integrates the developer's provided intercom with a LEXA-added camera perimeter and Control4 Access door locks on entrance-facing doors only (the family's preference — not a full lock-down system). Handover included a bilingual (English + Tagalog) household-manager training session and a printed one-page 'family cheat sheet' magneted to the utility cupboard.

Project Outcome
The system was live on day 28 — two days ahead of the client's target. Total on-site programming time was 42 hours across 6 site visits. Every scene the client requested during design development was functional at first walkthrough; three additional scenes were added remotely in the first 30 days via 4Sight without a truck-roll. The family's household manager runs the entire property from a single Control4 iPad and Siri voice commands, no additional touchpanels required.
